Day 6- Glad I projected a slower start for the Run for Rare to accommodate for Mother Nature. I will most likely cross the 100 mile mark tomorrow. Bracing for the cold. Tough being in the elements all day, but a necessary part of the journey. BRING IT ON. 82 miles done in 5 days (today off). Approx. 2,950 miles to go. Averaging 16.4 miles per day. Warm up. After D.C. next weekend, my average daily miles shoot to 26 per day with some 40 and 50 mile days for TX and NM. All by design. Veteran of the Road. Sunny skies ahead.
Run Noah Run. I am with you friend.
DONT LOOK BACK……..X2
Run Noah Run. Proud to call you my friend.
Don’t look back…X2
Noah, I am so inspired by you and all you are doing to raise awareness for Batten Disease and other RARE Diseases. Thank you!
It looks like your route is going to take you through my area of northeast TN. You may recall meeting me briefly at last summer’s BDSRA conference. My daughter Brianna (one of the redheaded girls) had just been diagnosed with the CLN3 version of Batten Disease in February of 2014. When do you expect to make it to TN? We’d love to see you as you come through and cheer you on!
Since Bri is so newly diagnosed, we haven’t made many news connections but I may have a way. Also, I know of a family that is affected by another rare genetic disease that you may not have heard of. It is called Hereditary Angioedema (HAE). They might be willing to join us. – K Swindall
