Day 22 – Curry to Claremorris – 22 Miles

22 on 22. A day of running straight into 20-25 MPH wind. I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. You must take the bad days with the good.

Today was originally 17 miles to Ballyhaunis. Late last night I glanced at the satellite view of the N83 highway = no shoulder. This left another option of N17 WITH a 8 foot shoulder, but an additional 5 miles through hills to Claremorris. Each lead to Tuam = tomorrow’s destination.

Throw in a dash of all day wicked wind and rain, and I had to pick the safer bet.

I also had another stare down with a mini horse and an airplane flew above me landing into Knock airports. Scored a top last minute AirBnB with a sauna and pool table.

Meanwhile, I am always encouraged by the steady support of all of you, and the University of Dayton in Ohio, USA who are tracking my daily route.
